PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our client is a UK-based company. It is a data & intelligence company that provides analysis of energy markets. We offer our clients in-depth coverage of market fundamentals, price movements and the geopolitical context. All of our research is independent and draws on our extensive proprietary data models and network of contacts within the global oil and gas industry. They have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned, strategic-minded Staff Engineer to join their team as an influential individual contributor. This role demands deep technical expertise, an ability to clearly translate complex business challenges into innovative technological solutions and a pragmtic, results-oriented approach.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
  • The ideal candidate will possess a proven trach record of architecting and delivering robust, scalable solutions. they will excel in roles where their technical contributions significantly amplify team capabilities, collaborate effectively with executive leadership, and drive strategic technology initiatives forward;
  • Work closely with the head of technology, CEO, and functional business leaders to align technical initiatives with business objectives, driving innovation across the company;
  • Deliver impactful solutions within tight timelines, ensuring your efforts produce significant value to projects, teams, and overall business performance.

IF YOU HAVE

  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, with extensive experience in React;
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud infrastructure;
  • Proven ability in designing RESTful APIs and webhooks, securely wrapping, integrating, and extending third-party APIs;
  • Solid working knowledge of relational databases, including experience with at least one of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server;
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI tools and services (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel AI SDK);
  • Demonstrated success leading complex technical projects and delivering scalable, robust software solutions;
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strategic foresight in aligning technology and business objectives;
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging directly with executive leadership.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Next.js and Vercel;
  • Experience with Python;
  • Familiarity with integrating and extending enterprise business solutions, such as Microsoft O365/Graph APIs and Salesforce.
